This lesson demonstrates how to centrally align objects, with precision.

Undo and Navigation Steps
Two ways of undoing steps are from the top menu, Edit then Step Backwards. Alternatively, click a previous snapshot in the History Palette.

Navigate (zoom in and pan) your image using the Navigator Palette,

or the Zoom Tool.

Activate The Hand Tool by tapping the Spacebar, keeping the Spacebar pressed, pan your image in the usual way.

1/
Open your choice of document, photograph, or photo object, onto Photoshop’s workspace.

2/
Then open a New document - or a second image, and drag your object, or photograph onto it using the Move Tool
Tool Lessons.

3/
Working on your object’s layer, from the top menu, choose Select then choose All. The outside of your image will now be surrounded by a rectangular marquee.

4/
Now, from the toolbar, activate the Move Tool  - and from the Move Tool’s Options bar, click the following Align vertical centres icon.

This centrally aligns your object, photograph, or document.

5/
Experiment with the following controls to see how they align your objects, then remove the marquee, Ctrl then D.
