This tutorial demonstrates how to create contact sheets.
Undo and Navigation Steps Two ways of undoing steps are from the top menu, Edit then Step Backwards. Alternatively, click a previous snapshot in the History Palette.
Navigate (zoom in and pan) your image using the Navigator Palette,
or the Zoom Tool.
Activate The Hand Tool by tapping the Spacebar, keeping the Spacebar pressed, pan your image in the usual way.
1/ Open Photoshop, then gather your choice of photographs and place them into a folder.
2/ Now you have collected your images, it is time to open Adobe Bridge. Therefore, from Windows Start menu, click Programs then navigate to and left-click to activate your version’s Adobe Bridge.
Adobe Bridge’s icon is different for earlier CS versions.
After you have opened Adobe Bridge, you are ready for the next step.
3/ From Adobe Bridge’s interface, navigate to the folder you saved your photographs to in Chapter 1 - my folder is located in My Documents.
4/ After you have located your folder, double-left-click to open it.
After you have opened your folder, you are ready for the next step.
5/ From the top menu of Adobe Bridge click Tools then click Photoshop then click Contact Sheet II.
6/ You will then be directed to Photoshop’s workspace and will see the following Contact Sheet II dialogue box. Edit the settings if you wish to change the photograph’s placement - alternatively, accept the default settings and click OK, as I have done.
Familiarise yourself with the Contact Sheet II settings and see how they effect the placement of your photographs.
7/ Clicking OK activates a Script; Photoshop then imports, places, rearranges and resizes your images (onto the contact sheet), based upon the Contact Sheet II settings. Note: Depending on your PC and the number (and indeed size of your photographs), this process can take a little time. Therefore, if you are working with lots of large files, be patient.
After you have created your contact sheet, it is ready to e-mail - or print, in your usual manner.
