Undo and Navigation Steps
Two ways of undoing steps are from the top menu, Edit then Step Backwards. Alternatively, click a previous snapshot in the History Palette.
Navigate (zoom in and pan) your image using the Navigator Palette,
or the Zoom Tool. 
Activate The Hand Tool by tapping the Spacebar, keeping the Spacebar pressed, pan your image in the usual way.

Open your image onto Photoshop’s workspace.

Then from the toolbar, activate the Crop Tool  - Tutorial.
And crop out areas that are not crucial to the image.

If your photograph needs further disguising, as my photograph of Ben does, the quickest way to do this is to apply an edge mask. My tutorial Here demonstrates how to download and apply edge masks. My tutorials Here demonstrate various ways of applying frames and edges. You are looking to apply an appropriate mask that disguises the background, whilst leaving the subject untouched, Therefore, experiment with different edges and frames to find a suitable match.
