This tutorial demonstrates how to produce an Impressionist-painting - (visible brush
strokes). To work along, you are welcome to download the Start Images I am working with Here. Unzip the file and open the image onto Photoshop Elements’ workspace.
Undo Note
You can step backwards at any time by clicking the top menu’s Undo Tool.

Open your Start Image onto Elements’ workspace; File then Open: Ctrl then O.
Tip
Centralise your photograph by snapping it to the top menu’s orange horizontal line.

Now, from the top menu, choose Filter then choose Brush Strokes then choose Sprayed Strokes. From the subsequent dialogue box, enter the following settings, or experiment, then click OK.
Tip
For a deeper effect, reapply the Sprayed Strokes Filter, (Ctrl then F).
Tip
For personal results, experiment with different Brush Stroke filters.
Tip
For extra clarity, apply a Sharpening Filter: from the top menu, choose Enhance then select a Sharpening Filter of your choice.

Congratulations, your Impressionist-painting Conversion is complete and is ready to save.
Now you are familiar with this technique, you can have lots of fun converting your favourite photographs into Impressionist-paintings.
