This tutorial demonstrates how to create text reflections.
Alternative reflection tutorials can be found Here, Here and Here.
Undo and Navigation Steps Two ways of undoing steps are from the top menu, Edit then Step Backwards. Alternatively, click a previous snapshot in the History Palette.
Navigate (zoom in and pan) your image using the Navigator Palette,
or the Zoom Tool.
Activate The Hand Tool by tapping the Spacebar, keeping the Spacebar pressed, pan your image in the usual way.
1/ Open a New document and set the following attributes - set a resolution of 300 pixels/inch if you plan to print your work.
2/ Now, set the Foreground to a colour you wish your type to be.
3/ Then activate the Horizontal Type Tool.
And set the type of your choice into the Options bar. Type Tool Lesson.
Apply your words; click the Commit any current edits tick, then centralise your type with the Move Tool.
4/ From the top menu, choose Layer then choose Rasterise then choose Type.
5/ Duplicate your type layer by dragging it over the following Create a new layer icon.
6/ And working on the duplicated layer, from the top menu, choose Edit then choose Transform then choose flip Vertical. With the Move Tool, reposition the duplicated type, as demonstrated below.
7/ From the top menu, choose Edit then choose Transform then choose Perspective. Perspective Type Tutorial. A deformation box will immediately surround your duplicated type. Now, extend the grey workspace by dragging the document’s menu upwards and to the right, then grab the deformation handle highlighted below, and gently tug it in the direction of the arrow. This perspectively warps the type.
Press your Enter key to commit the change.
8/ From the Layers palette, reduce the Opacity of the duplicated layer - to fade it slightly.

9/ Optional To create a water reflection, from the top menu, choose Filter then choose Distort then choose Ripple. In the subsequent dialogue box, set the following attributes, or experiment, then click OK. Alternatively, experiment with the Wave filter.

10/ From the Layers palette, click to remove the eye icon of the Background layer, this removes the white background, leaving a chessboard transparency.
11/ Now, from the top menu, choose Layer then choose New Fill Layer and fill the transparent background with either a Solid Colour, Pattern or Gradient - as described in my lesson Here.
12/ Finish by applying a Layer Style to your type as explained in Chapter 4 of my lesson Here - then crop away the extraneous outer background. From the top menu, choose Layer then choose Flatten Image, then save your work.
